How to add page numbers to a PDF

To add page numbers, open the Add Page Numbers tool, add your file, choose the position, format, and starting number, and download. The numbers are drawn in your browser, with nothing uploaded.

Position and format

Place numbers in any corner or centered, in the header or footer, and choose a format like “1”, “1 of 20”, or “Page 1”. Set the starting value to skip a cover page.

Legal Bates numbering

For legal and discovery work that needs a prefix and zero-padded sequence (e.g. ACME-000042), use Bates Numbering instead. For repeating labels, use Header & Footer.
