PDFER is a free, privacy-first PDF toolkit with 43+ tools that run entirely in your browser. You can merge, split, compress, convert, edit, sign, and secure PDF files without uploading them to a server, creating an account, or installing software. Because every operation happens on your own device, your files stay private and there are no watermarks or size limits beyond your device's memory.
In your browser vs. uploading to an online PDF service
Most online PDF tools (such as iLovePDF or Smallpdf) upload your file to their servers to process it, then delete it later. PDFER instead does the work locally with WebAssembly, so the document never leaves your device. That makes it a better fit for confidential or regulated documents, work without a reliable connection, and anyone who simply doesn't want their files sent to a third party. The trade-off is that very heavy jobs are limited by your device's memory rather than a data-center's.
