How to crop a PDF

To crop a PDF, open the Crop PDF tool, add your file, set how much to trim from each edge, and download — PDFER adjusts every page's crop box in your browser, with nothing uploaded.

How cropping works

Cropping sets the visible area of each page by trimming the margins, so scanners' black borders and excess whitespace disappear. The underlying content isn't deleted, so it prints and displays within the new bounds.

Pair it with resize or rotate

After cropping, use Resize to scale pages to a standard size, or Rotate first if a scan came in sideways.

Frequently asked

Does cropping delete the trimmed content?
It sets the visible crop area rather than deleting content, so the page shows and prints within the new margins.
Is cropping applied to all pages?
Yes — the margin trim is applied across every page of the document.
